INFANTS (from birth - 6 months)
The screening test is performed using an otoacoustic emissions instrument. The test is non invasive, painless and objective.
When the baby sleeps, the procedure takes about two minutes to be completed and gives us reliable information on the function of the child's cochlea and therefore, hearing status.
This has been proven to be one of the ideal techniques for testing babies aged 0-6 months. It is performed at our clinic by trained and experienced audiologists who participate in the McGill neonatal hearing screening group committee.
